APPO Medical Mission 2013

THE PHILIPPINE MEDICAL MISSION TO OLONGAPO CITY IS ON!

PLEASE READ IF INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THE MISSION!

We are happy to report that the board voted to go forward with the medical mission to Olongapo City Feb 3 to 7, 2013. We are grateful to the leaders of the various American Philippine Physician and Nurses Organizations that worked together to influence the Philippine Profession Regulation Commission (PRC) to reverse the guidelines from July 2012 which greatly inhibited our organization from proceeding with the Medical Mission. APPO is geared up and ready to restart the planning for the next mission. We currently have approximately 70 volunteers signed up to attend. Space is limited and deadlines for paperwork is fast approaching.

If you cannot attend, consider a tax-deductible donation to APPO. Each year , the cost of the mission increases. We no longer rely on samples from pharmaceutical reps, we purchase about 5,000 doses of medications from a wholesaler and thousands of dollars in anesthestics for surgery. The volunteers pay for their flight, hotel and personal expenses and fees for the paperwork. APPO covers the cost of not only the medical supplies but shipping about 80 boxes to the Philippines prior to the mission with our surgical supplies, medicines and medical supplies. We also purchase and lease equipment in the Philippines. We greatly appreciate each donation and know that your donation is helping those in great need.
